Reading FC coach Noel Hunt has given an update on Andy Rinomhota, who has not played since 9 December 2025.
Rinomhota has been unavailable after withdrawing from the Warriors camp for AFCON due to “personal reasons”.
The midfielder went on to miss the entire tournament and has also been absent for his club for the past two months.
When asked when Rinomhota is expected to return, Hunt told The Reading Chronicle that the Warriors international could be back this weekend, although he is set to feature for the U21s.
The coach said: “I think we all respect that with Andy’s personal reasons.
“Listen, Andy wants to be on the pitch as much as anybody.
“So we’ve had to really manage him really well, really mindfully. Not carefully, because he’d play tomorrow even though he possibly couldn’t.
“What I would say is that positively this last week’s probably the best he’s looked since I’ve been here. And hopefully we’re going to get him 45 minutes for the 21s on Saturday.
“And we’ll see how he comes through that.”
