DJ Warras’ case postponed
The murder case of popular DJ Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock has been postponed to 1 April 2026 to allow for further investigations.
Taxi boss Victor Mthethwa Majola and Mozambican national Armindo Pacula appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
The two men were arrested in connection with Stock’s fatal shooting in December last year.
Prosecutor Vincent Mochabela told the court that investigators need more time to finalise preparations in the matter, leading to the postponement.
Stock was shot and killed on 16 December 2025 near the Carlton Centre in Johannesburg.
Investigators believe the killing was targeted and may be linked to a dispute involving his security company’s installation of a biometric access control system at Zambezi Flats.
The assassination is also suspected to be connected to tensions surrounding hijacked buildings in the Johannesburg inner city.
During court proceedings, Pacula’s legal representative indicated that his client may consider entering into a plea agreement, although no formal decision has been made.
The court also heard that Pacula has raised concerns about his safety while in custody.
His lawyer explained that he fears for his life at the Johannesburg Correctional Centre and requested a transfer.
“According to him, he is informing me that there are people who killed his friend, and he is afraid he might be killed if he is incarcerated at Johannesburg correctional services,” his lawyer told the court.
Authorities have since arranged for his transfer to Modderbee Correctional Centre.
The case is expected to resume in April as investigations continue
