Mighty Warriors coach Sithethelewe Sibanda has given an update on the squad’s preparation ahead of the 2026 COSAFA Women’s Championship.
The tournament will be staged in Polokwane, South Africa, from 18 February to 1 March 2026, with eleven teams from across the region set to take part in the competition.
Zimbabwe was drawn in Group B alongside defending champions Zambia, Botswana, and Eswatini.
The Mighty Warriors will begin their campaign on 19 February against Eswatini at 12 noon at Seshego Stadium.
Speaking in an interview with ZIFA Media, Sibanda said: “We have just arrived here in Polokwane aftdr travelling by bus from Joburg. For now we need to rest and tomorrow (Wednesday), we will start to get active and prepare for the first match against Swaziland.
“So far, everyone is ok, I think we ready for the game.”
Zimbabwe’s next match is against Zambia on 22 February at 3 pm CAT at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The women’s national team will return to Seshego Stadium for their final Group B match against Botswana on 24 February, with kick-off set for 12 noon.
