Hardrock FC confirm postponement of Chahwanda Stadium official opening


Hardrock FC have announced the postponement of the official commissioning of Chahwanda Stadium, but assured supporters that preparations remain on course for the venue to host their historic Premier Soccer League fixture against Scottland FC.

The venue was set for official opening on the 28th of February.

In a statement released by the club, Hardrock FC confirmed that the official opening has been delayed, although work continues behind the scenes to ensure the stadium is match-ready.

“Hard Rock Football Club advises all stakeholders that the commissioning of Chahwanda Stadium has been delayed,” the statement read.

“Meanwhile, we want to reassure all our supporters that preparations are firmly on track to ensure the stadium is ready to host our highly anticipated first ever Premier Soccer League match against Scottland FC.”

The club statement added: “Chahwanda Stadium is more than just a venue, it is a home for every Zimbabwean, built to celebrate our shared passion for football and community,” the statement continued.

“Its opening will mark a significant milestone, not only for Hard Rock FC but for the entire national football family.”

Hardrock FC added that a new date for the commissioning ceremony will be announced once all logistical arrangements have been finalised.

“An official date for the commissioning will be communicated once all arrangements are complete.

“We remain committed to delivering a world-class facility that reflects the pride and spirit of Zimbabwean football.”
