Lock Brothers Bring Tourists to Harare

By Sports Reporter-One of Zimbabwe’s top tennis exports, Benjamin Lock, has pledged to bring his international tennis and golf associates to Harare after expressing excitement over developments at The Hills Luxury Golf Estate.

Speaking during a recent familiarisation tour of the estate, Benjamin said he is eager to introduce professional athletes and property investors to Zimbabwe’s fast-growing luxury lifestyle destination.

“I am committed to bringing my tennis and golf friends to Harare,” he said. “It is a dream for many professional players to come to Africa, and to Zimbabwe in particular. To train at a facility like this would be perfect.”

Benjamin noted that November and December — the major pre-season period for ATP players — would be ideal for training camps in Harare.

“They would prefer November and December, which is the big pre-season for ATP players. Training in Harare is good for the body. They would love it. At the same time, they get to play their tennis and also enjoy some golf, which they love,” he said.

Beyond hosting athletes, Benjamin sees strong potential for investment.

“Professional sports personalities are always looking to invest in different destinations. The Hills offers a unique opportunity,” he said.

His vision is to see The Hills become a magnet for international talent, lifestyle seekers and property investors.

“This dual offering of elite tennis and championship golf makes The Hills a unique destination — not only for athletes, but also for lifestyle buyers looking to invest in Zimbabwe’s most ambitious luxury estate,” he added.

Benjamin and his brother, Courtney Lock, recently signed a partnership agreement with WestProp Holdings to establish the Lock Brothers Tennis Academy at The Hills. The academy will complement the estate’s growing portfolio of sporting facilities, which include swimming, paddle tennis, five-a-side soccer and other recreational amenities.

Inspired by global benchmarks — including Benjamin’s recent visit to Bali’s Morotobi Tennis Centre — the academy will feature state-of-the-art tennis and paddle courts, positioning Zimbabwe at the forefront of modern racket sports development.

“Courtney and I have a huge passion for giving back to Zimbabwe. To start seeing the plans take shape, especially at the tennis centre, is exciting,” Benjamin said.

“We have always wanted to establish a world-class tennis centre for Zimbabwe and for Africa — an example to the rest of the world of what can be achieved here through strong partnerships and collaboration. To see the vision and progress taking shape is incredible.”

An avid golfer himself, Benjamin also expressed admiration for the rapid progress being made on the estate’s golf course.

“I am impressed with how fast the golf course is coming along. It looks beautiful, and I think it’s going to be amazing to see the final product. It will be a wholesome moment when everything is complete,” he said.

For the Lock brothers, the academy represents more than just sport — it is about legacy. Their commitment to nurturing young Zimbabwean talent is central to the project, ensuring that aspiring athletes will have access to world-class facilities at home.

With its blend of luxury living, elite sports and wellness amenities, The Hills Luxury Golf Estate is positioning itself as Zimbabwe’s premier destination for recreation, lifestyle and investment. The addition of the Lock Brothers Tennis Academy strengthens that vision — transforming The Hills into not just a place to live, but a hub to train, invest and showcase Zimbabwe’s sporting potential to the world.
