Watch: Passion Java Claims Zim Dollar Shall Be At Par With US Dollar In 2040

Tinashe Sambiri – Controversial preacher Passion Java has once again made headlines, this time endorsing an extension of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s tenure to 2030 and tying the country’s economic recovery to his continued leadership.

In an interview with Zigo TV on Wednesday, Java predicted that the Zimbabwean dollar (ZiG) could eventually reach parity with the US dollar if Mnangagwa remained in office.

He told reporters, “President Mnangagwa is continuing the work he began and is managing it well. What matters now is the progress being made, not who comes after him.”

Java added, “Allowing him to stay in office until 2030 could pave the way for full economic recovery. I believe this aligns with a larger vision for Zimbabwe’s future.”

The preacher’s comments have reignited debate over the controversial 2030 Agenda, which critics argue is being used to justify extending Mnangagwa’s term beyond constitutional limits. Analysts point out that, despite claims of improvement, Zimbabwe still faces high inflation, a volatile currency, and persistent economic challenges.

Supporters contend that longer-term leadership could provide the stability needed to implement reforms, while opponents caution that extending presidential terms threatens democratic norms.

Passion Java, who often blends political commentary with religious messaging, has once again inserted himself into the national spotlight, linking faith-based predictions to high-stakes political endorsements.
