Castle Lager Premier Soccer League newcomers Hunters FC held MWOS to a goalless draw in the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season opener played at Rufaro Stadium on Friday afternoon.
The game marked the first time Hunters featured in a top-flight match following their promotion after winning the Eastern Region Division One Championship last season.
Both sides created opportunities at goal, but the visitors made the better chances throughout the ninety minutes.
MWOS’s closest chance came in stoppage time of the first half, with Aurthur Banda rattling the post with his effort from range.
Hunters, on the other hand, had two noteworthy opportunities in the first half, but Francis Tizayi made great saves to keep the scoreline level.
Action continues on Saturday with a packed schedule of four matches, all kicking off at 1500hrs. Herentals College FC take on Chicken Inn FC at Rufaro Stadium, while Ngezi Platinum Stars FC clash with FC Platinum at Baobab Stadium in a platinum derby. Triangle United FC host ZPC Kariba FC at Gibbo Stadium, and TelOne FC battle Dynamos FC at Ascot Stadium.
