Hardrock, Scottland share spoils as Benjani Mwaruwari secures a draw in first league match for Highlanders

Chahwanda Stadium hosted its first ever game on Sunday afternoon when Hardrock faced defending champions Scottland FC.

The ground was constructed by Shepherd Chahwanda, who also owns Hardrock FC.

The game ended in a goalless draw, but the main highlight was the attendance at the stadium.

The 15,000-capacity seater had a decent crowd, and several fans donned the green and white colours in support of the Kwekwe-based side.

At Barbourfields Stadium, Highlanders and Bulawayo Chiefs played out a 1-1 draw.

Chiefs opened the scoring through Zibusiso Dambo on the half-hour mark.

Highlanders secured the equaliser in the 88th minute courtesy of Nigerian striker Benjamin Adeogun.

The game marked the first time head coach Benjani Mwaruwari was in charge of Highlanders in a league game since his appointment in the pre-season.

At Rufaro Stadium, CAPS United beat newcomers Agama FC 2-1, thanks to goals from Ishmael Wadi and Allen Mukombedzi.

At Gibbo Stadium, visiting side Simba Bhora edged Manica Diamonds 1-0.
