Fans Unplug VAR Monitor During Münster vs Hertha Berlin Match

Sports Correspondent – A dramatic incident unfolded during the match between Preußen Münster and Hertha BSC after supporters interfered with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system during a penalty review.

The controversy began when the referee was instructed by the VAR to review a possible penalty for Hertha Berlin following a disputed incident inside the penalty box.

However, when the referee walked to the pitch-side monitor to examine the replay, the screen was completely black. Reports indicated that some Münster supporters had climbed down from the stands and unplugged the VAR television, preventing the referee from watching the footage.

Despite the disruption, the decision-making process continued as the VAR official handled the review remotely.
After assessing the incident, the VAR confirmed that a penalty should be awarded to Hertha Berlin.

The spot kick was subsequently taken and successfully converted by the Berlin side.
