Tinashe Sambiri– The controversial Zanu PF official, Killer Zivhu, took to X over the weekend to lash out at groups defending the constitution, accusing them of being led by opportunists.

Killer Zivhu, known for his confrontational style, said: “Those defending the constitution through CDF or similar groups seem misguided. Every year, new groups form, yet nothing changes. The same leaders take bribes, abandon ship, and resurface later with a new tactic, expecting people to follow again, rambai kuitiswa kunge zvimakava.”

Zivhu’s remarks appeared aimed at undermining the credibility of the Constitution Defenders Forum (CDF) and similar civic initiatives, portraying them as ineffective and driven by self-interest rather than genuine commitment to democratic principles.

He continued to emphasize his disdain for what he called “chancers” who recycle themselves into leadership positions, misleading citizens with repeated campaigns that yield little tangible results.

The comments have sparked debate on social media, with critics accusing Zivhu of attempting to discredit civic activism while supporters claim he is speaking harsh truths about leadership failures within advocacy groups.

Zivhu remains a polarizing figure in Zimbabwean politics, with his statements often attracting both outrage and attention from across the political spectrum.
