The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the prize money for the upcoming CAF African Schools Football Championship Continental Finals, set to take place in Harare next month.
CAF has confirmed that the winners in both the Boys’ and Girls’ categories will each receive USD 300,000, three times more than what the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League winners get for winning the title.
The runners-up will be awarded USD 200,000, while the third-place finishers will take home USD 150,000.
The lucrative prize structure is part of CAF’s broader initiative to invest in grassroots football, with funding support from the Motsepe Foundation, which committed an initial USD 10 million towards prize money and development programmes.
Zimbabwe will host the tournament from 2 to 10 April 2026, with matches set to be played in Harare.
Participating teams
Girls: Zimbabwe, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Guinea, Tanzania, Zambia, DR Congo.
Boys: Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Benin, Morocco, Senegal, Uganda, Zambia, DR Congo.
