CAPS United coach Takesure Chiragwi speaks on title race after strong start to the season

CAPS United coach Takesure Chiragwi has given an early assessment of the title race after his side’s strong start to the season.

The Green Machine have won all of their first three games and are currently leading the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table with nine points.

They beat Triangle United 1-0 at Gibbo Stadium on Wednesday to maintain their perfect start to the campaign and remain the only side yet to drop points.

Speaking after the game, Chiragwi admitted the importance of setting the pace early but urged his charges to remain grounded.

“There is always pressure in football, but you need to understand the objective that you want as a team,” the gaffer said.

“We build confidence in every game we play. It’s early in the season, but if we get the points at this stage, it is important because we are going to get better as the season goes.

“We just need to be calm and focused. There’s no time to relax or celebrate.”

CAPS United will face newcomers Hardrock in their next match at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
