Caps United Unbeaten Run Continues
Sports Correspondent – CAPS United maintained their flawless start to the season with a 2-0 victory over Hardrock in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 4 clash at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
The Green Machine have now made it four wins out of four, taking their tally to 12 points and reinforcing their early dominance in the title race.
Ishmael Wadi opened the scoring as early as the fourth minute, setting the tone for the hosts. Teen sensation Allen Mukombedzi, introduced from the bench, wrapped up the win in the 85th minute with his second goal of the campaign.
The defeat marked Hardrock’s first loss of the season.
At Wadzanayi Stadium, Highlanders’ struggles continued as they were held to a goalless draw by Simba Bhora. Bosso are still searching for their first win of the season, having drawn all four of their opening matches.
Simba Bhora remain unbeaten and sit third on the table, while Highlanders occupy 10th position.
In other fixtures, FC Platinum and Telone shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw. Tadiwa Muchenje and Garikai Dematsika were on target for the Platinum Boys, while Blessing Mettebeck and Bruno Mtigo scored for Telone.
Chicken Inn and Ngezi Platinum also played out a goalless stalemate in their encounter.
