Warriors Make Injury-Enforced Changes

Sports Correspondent – The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has confirmed several injury-enforced changes to the Warriors squad ahead of the upcoming Four Nations Tournament in Botswana.

A number of key players have been ruled out due to injury, including Knowledge Musona, Tawanda Maswanhise, Prince Dube and Thando Ngwenya.

Maswanhise had been expected to travel with the squad but picked up a minor knock following his team’s 0-0 draw with Hibernian FC on Saturday. He will now remain in Scotland to recover.

In response, ZIFA has drafted in four replacements: Washington Navaya of Hardrock FC, Jarrison Selemani from FC Platinum, Mongameli Tshuma of Highlanders FC, and Godknows Murwira, who plays for Scottland FC.

Tshuma earns his first call-up to the national team following an impressive start to life at Highlanders.
Earlier, Sean Fusire of Sheffield Wednesday withdrew from the squad due to personal commitments and was replaced by Junior Zindoga of TS Galaxy.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are set to fine-tune their preparations with an exhibition match against Highlanders FC at Barbourfields Stadium on Wednesday.

The match is expected to give the technical team a final opportunity to assess combinations and build match fitness ahead of the regional tournament.
