ZANU PF Youth League Leader Bemoans Soaring Kombi Fares in Harare
Tinashe Sambiri – ZANU PF Youth League deputy commissar Taurai Kandishaya on Monday publicly expressed frustration over increasing commuter omnibus fares in Harare, highlighting the growing impact of rising fuel prices on ordinary citizens.
Taking to Facebook, Kandishaya shared his dissatisfaction after being charged what he described as an unusually high fare, even for a short journey.
“Yeah transport makombi arikuti dhurei pandabhadhara dhora pacho amana ka apa ndiripaKadoma,” he wrote.
His remarks come at a time when transport costs continue to surge across urban areas, largely driven by escalating fuel prices.
ZANU PF has attributed the fuel price increases to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
However, economic analysts argue that the rising costs are largely a result of heavy taxation policies, which have significantly driven up the price of fuel and, in turn, public transport fares.
