ZIFA suspends Warriors defender Teenage Hadebe

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has confirmed the suspension of Warriors defender Teenage Hadebe.

In a statement released by the association, Hadebe was found guilty of violating team regulations, prompting disciplinary action in line with established protocols.

The defender was caught with a bottle of whiskey inside the camp. A video of him holding the bottle was also leaked online.

As a result, the centre-back has been suspended for one match and will miss Zimbabwe’s final clash against Zambia in the Mukuru Four-Nation Tournament.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association confirms that Warriors defender Teenage Hadebe has been found in breach of the team’s camp code of conduct,” the statement read.

“Following this, a disciplinary decision has been taken in line with team regulations. Teenage Hadebe has been suspended for one match and will therefore miss the final of the Mukuru Four-Nation Tournament against Zambia.

“The player has since apologised to the team and the Association, and has accepted the disciplinary outcome.”

Warriors will face Zambia in the final of the Mukuru Four-Nation Tournament at Obed Itani Stadium in Francistown, Botswana on Tuesday. Kickoff is at 3 pm CAT.
