Eastern Cape economic development, environmental affairs and tourism MEC Nonkqubela Pieters was involved in a car accident on the N2 between KuGompo City and Mdantsane on Thursday afternoon.
On Friday her department confirmed the crash happened at about 3.40pm.
“The office can confirm that the MEC sustained no injuries and is in good health,” spokesperson Mandisa Nohashe said.
“She has undergone a precautionary medical assessment and remains in high spirits.”
