CAPS United bounce back to winning ways as Dynamos edge Simba Bhora

CAPS United bounced back to winning ways after beating struggling Manica Diamonds 2-0 in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 6 clash played at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.

The Green Machine maintained their spot at the top of the table with fifteen points, while Manica Diamonds remained at the bottom with just one point.

The hosts dominated the early pace and could have taken the lead in the 25th minute, but Takunda Benhura’s effort crashed against the woodwork.

As the game approached the break, Benhura won a penalty after he was fouled inside the box.

Kundai Benyu took the kick but failed to convert, keeping the scoreline goalless at half-time.

Chawanangwa Kaonga finally secured the breakthrough for CAPS United in the 55th minute before substitute Allen Mukombedzi doubled the lead in the 72nd minute.

The scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle, with Manica Diamonds failing to score again this season.

At Wadzanayi Stadium, Dynamos edged hosts Simba Bhora 1-0 to move into second place.

The Glamour Boys got the win courtesy of Frank Agyemang’s effort on the stroke of half-time.

The goal came just moments after Jairos Kasondo was denied from the spot by Simba Bhora goalkeeper William Thole.
