Olinda Chapel Money: COS Clients Exonerate Tafadzwa Matinyarare

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | A group of COS-related complainants, whose names were published by businesswoman Olinda Chapel as she alleged they had been robbed by her personal assistant, have cleared the latter of any wrongdoing.

On 17 February 2026, Chapel published a Facebook post listing individuals she claimed had lost money to Tafadzwa Matinyarare.

Chapel then engaged the ZimEye News network and was briefly interviewed. She stated that checks could be conducted with the individuals concerned and proposed that the matter be taken into the public news space.

However, when contacted for comment, the complainants distanced themselves from Chapel’s claims.

One individual, Prosper (surname withheld), did not return calls. A female complainant, Fortune (surname withheld), briefly spoke, saying: “I’ve seen what Olinda has posted, and I really do not want to have anything to do with it.”

When asked for further clarification on what might be the truth, she responded: “We don’t want to have anything to do with Olinda’s rants,” before ending the call.

When questioned about why she publicised phone numbers and IDs of her staff members, Chapel maintained her allegations of financial wrongdoing.

However, she deleted the post a day later after being challenged over potential privacy violations.

Chapel was also asked why she had only now come forward with accusations against her staff members two years after the alleged events. The timing of her claims—relating to a period when she herself was reportedly operating after being deregistered from selling COS papers—remains an issue she has yet to explain.
