The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) have confirmed the Warriors’ participation in the upcoming Unity Cup 2026, a four-nation international tournament set to take place in England next month.
The competition will run from 26 to 30 May at The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic FC, and will feature Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Jamaica and India.
The tournament marks a historic milestone for the Warriors, who will be playing in England in a competition of this nature for the first time.
According to a statement released by ZIFA, Zimbabwe will take on Nigeria in the opening semi-final on 26 May, while Jamaica face India in the second semi-final on 27 May. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 7:30pm, with the winners progressing to the final on 30 May.
ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi described the tournament as a significant opportunity for Zimbabwean football.
“The Unity Cup is a landmark moment for Zimbabwe football. It reflects our ambition to compete, grow and test ourselves at a high international level,” he said.
Warriors head coach Marian Marinica also welcomed the opportunity, highlighting its importance for the team’s development.
“This is a strong platform for us as a team and an important chance to represent Zimbabwe with pride on an international stage,” Marinica said.
