Zimbabwe miss out on African Schools Championship semis as last four fixtures are confirmed

Zimbabwe have missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals of the 2026 CAF African Schools Football Championship after both the Boys and Girls teams fell short in the group stages.

The country is hosting the tournament at Gateway High School, but home advantage could not inspire either side to a place in the last four.

Zimbabwe’s Boys team managed just two points from their three Group A matches, while the Girls side collected only a single point in their campaign.

In the Boys competition, last year’s runners-up Senegal headline the semi-final line-up and are joined by Benin, Uganda and Morocco.

Meanwhile, defending champions Ghana lead the way in the Girls category, alongside Burkina Faso, Morocco and Zambia.

All semi-final matches will be played on Thursday, 09 April, at Gateway High School, with the fixtures set to be streamed live on CAF TV.
