Barcelona Lodge Formal Appeal to UEFA After 0–2 Defeat to Atletico Madrid
Sports Correspondent- FC Barcelona have officially lodged a series of formal complaints with UEFA following their 0–2 defeat to Atlético Madrid in a tense UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg match at Camp Nou.
The club has escalated the matter to European football’s governing body, calling for urgent attention to a series of incidents they believe influenced the outcome of the game. Barcelona are reportedly demanding that UEFA open an investigation into the match and provide clear explanations regarding key decisions made during the encounter.
The Catalan giants are also seeking official acknowledgment of what they describe as refereeing errors, insisting that the issues raised must be formally addressed at the highest level.
In addition, Barcelona are pushing for disciplinary action to be taken against on-field referee István Kovács as well as VAR official Christian Dingert, whom they hold responsible for decisions they believe negatively affected the match.
The complaint comes in the aftermath of a frustrating night for Barcelona, who suffered a 0–2 home defeat, leaving them with a difficult challenge ahead in the second leg of the tie.
