I always enjoy coming to Zimbabwe, says Bafana Bafana legend Simphiwe Tshabalala


Bafana Bafana legend Simphiwe Tshabalala has admitted that he has always loved visiting the country after the former midfielder attended the CAF African Schools Football Championship finals at Ngoni Stadium in Norton on Friday.

Zimbabwe hosted the African Schools Football Championship tournament from 2–10 April, with all group games played at Gateway High School in Harare, before the action moved to Ngoni Stadium for the semifinals and finals in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions.

Tshabalala was among the notable figures at Ngoni Stadium, together with CAF president Patrice Motsepe, ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi, among others.

Speaking after the game, the ex-Kaizer Chiefs man said:

“For me, it’s always great coming to Zimbabwe. I’m always well received and loved here. I appreciate that, I will definitely come back again.”

Speaking on the organisation of the tournament, Tshabalala added: “It has been a great tournament, not only for football but it was a comprehensive programme that gave a lot of youngsters opportunities.”
