Watch: Johanne Masowe Apostolic Sect Leader Declares Those Who Don’t Support Zanu PF Should Stop Coming To His Church

Tinashe Sambiri– A leader from the Johanne Masowe Apostolic Sect, popularly known as Doc Benji, has stirred controversy after reportedly telling congregants that those who do not support ZANU PF should no longer attend his church.

Doc Benji, who leads a congregation based in Chishawasha, is quoted as saying, “If you do not support ZANU PF, then you should stop coming to this church,” a statement that has sparked debate over the intersection of religion and politics.

In addition to his political stance, the church leader also voiced strong backing for the proposed Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3. “We support the Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3,” he reportedly said, aligning his religious platform with ongoing political developments.

Observers have also noted unusual features within his sect. Unlike many traditional Johanne Masowe groups, his congregation appears to have adopted a distinct church logo.

Furthermore, one of his followers was seen wearing a T-shirt bearing his image, a move that has drawn attention and raised eyebrows among critics.

The developments have fueled discussion around the role of religious leaders in political discourse, particularly in a country where church influence remains significant.
