By A Correspondent- A South Africa-registered taxi travelling to Johannesburg was involved in a deadly accident about 20km from Bulawayo.
Police say 18 people died on Thursday afternoon after a Toyota Quantum kombi caught fire and exploded. The incident happened on the Bulawayo–Beitbridge Road, near Much Binding area, between Chipangali and Gwanda tollgate. It is suspected the kombi was carrying explosives when it burst into flames.
The explosion happened between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Police are still investigating and more details will be shared soon.
