Suspected State Security Agents Attempt To Abduct “Chiwenga Ally” Isaac Makomichi In Masvingo?

By A Correspondent – A tense and suspicious incident unfolded in Masvingo on the evening of 18 April 2026, after Isaac Makomichi — a known ally of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga — reportedly evaded what is believed to have been a coordinated attempt by suspected state agents to intercept him.

The encounter began with a phone call from individuals who claimed to be police officers.

They alleged that a previous renter of the vehicle Makomichi was driving had left a mobile phone inside and requested his location so they could retrieve it.

The explanation immediately raised suspicion, prompting Makomichi to refuse sharing his whereabouts and instead insist that any meeting take place at the central police station.

Upon arriving at the station, the situation took a more concerning turn. A group of three men, reportedly driving a twin cab vehicle without number plates, was observed nearby.

Despite claiming to be law enforcement officers, the individuals allegedly refused to enter the police station, further deepening doubts about their identity and intentions.

The trio was said to have been positioned near the NSSA building, a site linked to the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) offices in Masvingo.

Rather than following formal procedures, they reportedly instructed Makomichi to park outside the police station, where one of the men forcefully opened his car door in an apparent attempt to gain access.

Although a search of the vehicle was conducted, nothing incriminating was found. The men then allegedly attempted to persuade Makomichi to move to a quieter, more secluded location for a more thorough search — a request he firmly rejected, maintaining that any lawful process should occur within official premises.

As the standoff continued, Makomichi reportedly demanded identification from the individuals and insisted on proper protocol. In response, the group is said to have called in another individual wearing a police uniform, before abruptly ending the encounter and allowing him to leave.

The incident has heightened fears of political targeting amid growing factional tensions. Unconfirmed reports circulating suggest that businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei and figures aligned with the “2030 agenda” may have deployed operatives to track or intimidate individuals perceived to be loyal to Vice President Chiwenga.

Makomichi, together with his legal representatives, is expected to file a formal police report regarding the incident.

The case is likely to draw significant attention as concerns mount over the alleged misuse of security structures and the broader implications for political freedoms and safety in Zimbabwe.
