Mawhoo’s recent performance in Zimbabwe sparks a stir
MaWhoo has set social media abuzz following her recent performance at the Upenyu Festival in Harare, Zimbabwe, where a viral clip captured a revealing moment on stage.
The singer performed at the inaugural event held at Lifestyle Park on Saturday, 18 April 2026, as part of celebrations hosted by the Nyaradzo Group.
While her set drew attention, it was a circulating video shared by entertainment blog EarGround that quickly became the talking point online.
In the clip, MaWhoo is seen performing her collaboration Thokoza alongside Sam Deep, but viewers couldn’t help noticing brief glimpses of her underwear during the performance.
The moment sparked a wave of reactions, with many focusing more on the video itself than the performance.
Some social media users turned the situation into humour, praising the person behind the camera.
“Cameraman well done,” wrote Maps Kudakwashe Maponde, while another user, Fanuel Muchacha, joked, “Cameraman you deserve a beer 🍺😂.”
Alvin Tatenda Matsangaise added, “Why is this video 2 hours long 😂?”
Others compared her stage presence to bold entertainers like Zodwa Wabantu, with Armstrong Hoto remarking, “Zodwa Wabantu influence there.”
Not all reactions were positive, however, as some viewers criticised the performance itself, suggesting local Zimbabwean stars outshone her on the night.
MaWhoo, who has built a reputation for her daring fashion choices, has previously faced similar scrutiny over her stage outfits.
The Harare performance also featured Zimbabwean-born star Sha Sha, who drew attention in her own right during her set.
