Wolverhampton Wanderers Relegated!
Sports Correspondent – Wolverhampton Wanderers, the English Premier League side linked to Zimbabwe internationals Tawanda Chirewa and Marshall Munetsi, have officially been relegated from the top flight.
Their drop was confirmed on Monday following a 0–0 draw between Crystal Palace and West Ham United, a result that mathematically ended Wolves’ chances of survival.
The outcome left West Ham in 16th position, still fighting to stay up, while bottom-placed Wolves can no longer gather enough points from their remaining five fixtures to escape relegation.
Wolves are the parent club of Chirewa and Munetsi, although both players are currently spending time away on loan deals.
Munetsi is currently playing for Paris FC in France, while Chirewa has been turning out for Barnsley FC in England’s League One.
Both Zimbabwean players remain contracted to Wolves and were sent out on loan during the January transfer window, shortly after Rob Edwards took charge of the club in November last year.
