Scottland FC coach Norman Mapeza has slammed his players for engaging in a half-time scuffle with MWOS players during their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 9 encounter at Ngoni Stadium on Saturday.
The players unnecessarily shoved each other just to stand in the centre of the pitch soon after the half-time whistle.
The tussle was only diffused by the referee, who told all the players to go to the dressing room.
Speaking after the game, Mapeza said the incident painted a dark picture of local football, dragging it backwards.
“There are so many things happening in our football at this moment, and I have to be honest with you, we’re going backwards,” he said.
“I didn’t know what was happening on the pitch. There are some things happening that we don’t talk about, but I won’t allow such things to happen.
“Unfortunately, I wasn’t there, I had already left for the dressing room. If we as coaches start believing in such, then we have a problem.”
Scottland won the match 1-0, with Khama Billiat scoring the decisive goal in the 53rd minute.
The result placed the defending champions in third place with seventeen points, while MWOS dropped to eighth.
