CAPS United coach Takesure Chiragwi has spoken about the importance of their victory over rivals Highlanders in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title race.
The Green Machine opened a four-point lead at the top of the table with twenty-two points after edging Bosso 2-1 at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
Speaking after the match, Chiragwi told ZBC TV: “A sweet victory like this motivates our players, especially as we come home to play another game.
“They have that belief, and if we build that winning mentality, it helps the players because if you keep on winning, they get to understand that winning is more important.”
CAPS United secured the victory after opening the scoring through Kudzai Chigwida in the 36th minute and doubling their lead in the 65th minute, courtesy of Malawi international striker Lloyd Njaliwa’s effort.
Highlanders got a consolation later on, scoring through Darlington Mukuli in the 75th minute.
