Maswanhise On The Verge Of Receiving Top Award In Scotland
Sports Correspondent – Motherwell striker Tawanda Maswanhise is in the running for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award following a breakout year.
Two years after his move north, the Zimbabwean has exploded into form with 22 goals in all competitions. His 17 league strikes put him atop the Premiership’s goal charts.
The 2024/25 season has already brought Maswanhise multiple Player of the Month honors. He now faces competition from Hearts pair Claudio Braga and Lawrence Shankland. Notably, it’s the first shortlist since 2013 without a nominee from either Celtic or Rangers.
The Zimbabwe international’s nod comes hot on the heels of his selection to the PFA Team of the Year.
This year’s recipient will be revealed at the players’ union gala on May 3.
