{"id":43173,"date":"2025-11-27T06:35:48","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T06:35:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eduzim.co.zw\/news\/?p=43173"},"modified":"2025-11-27T06:35:48","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T06:35:48","slug":"spec-details-released-of-revived-jmc-vigus-bakkie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eduzim.co.zw\/news\/2025\/11\/27\/spec-details-released-of-revived-jmc-vigus-bakkie\/","title":{"rendered":"JMC fully details &#8216;revived&#8217; Vigus bakkie range, but\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script data-jetpack-boost=\"ignore\" async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-1669381584671856\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- Africa tv video display -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1669381584671856\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"3579572842\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script data-jetpack-boost=\"ignore\">\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><h2>Having released select details of its returning Vigus bakkie back in September, returning Chinese automaker, JMC, has now fully detailed&#8230;<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Having released select details of its returning Vigus bakkie back in September, returning Chinese automaker, JMC, has now fully detailed the entire line-up, albeit without pricing.<\/p>\n<p>Announced back in July as coming back to South Africa after an almost decade long absence, the now confirmed Vigus range will comprise three models, one single and two double cabs, all leveraging off of JMC\u2019s partnership with Ford on the power front.<\/p>\n<p>Imported by Salvador Caetano Auto South Africa, whose portfolio includes GAC and from next year, its all-electric Aion division, the Vigus is once again based on the Chinese-market Yuhu, but this time, the Yuhu 9 that received its current look in 2019 as part of being an effective update of the Yuhu 7 that entered production in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Its abbreviated name denoting Jiangling Motors Corporation, the Vigus has an overall length of 5\u00a0305 mm, height of 1\u00a0835 mm, width of 1\u00a0905 mm and wheelbase of 3\u00a0085 mm regardless of the bodystyle.<\/p>\n<p>Somewhat surprisingly, no details regarding either models\u2019 payload was revealed, with the official JMC wording only claiming a tow rating of 2\u00a0000 kg for the single cab.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-blue-oval-motivation\">Blue Oval motivation<\/h3>\n<p>As mentioned, JMC\u2019s partnership with Ford, which has seen the Equator Sport being sold locally as the renamed Territory, has resulted in the Vigus being powered by the Puma range of turbodiesel engines in both 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre displacements.<\/p>\n<p>For the single cab, only the latter, used in later versions of the Land Rover Defender, has been selected with outputs of 103kW\/310NM versus the former\u2019s 90kW\/360Nm.<\/p>\n<p>Routing drive to the rear wheels only falls to a five-speed manual gearbox as opposed to the six-speed used once used in the Defender.<\/p>\n<p>On the pair of double cabs, the slightly newer 2.0-litre, which has reported links with the current Panther mills used in the Ranger and Everest, outputs 104kW\/350Nm.<\/p>\n<p>As standard, the unit is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which sends the amount of twist to the rear or all four wheels.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the low range transfer case, the four-wheel drive Vigus also has a locking rear differential as standard.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-spec\">Spec<\/h3>\n<p>In terms of spec, all three variants have the following as standard:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>17-inch alloy wheels;<\/li>\n<li>LED daytime running lights;<\/li>\n<li>fog lamps;<\/li>\n<li>electric windows;<\/li>\n<li>four-speaker sound system;<\/li>\n<li>single USB port;<\/li>\n<li>3.5-inch instrument cluster display;<\/li>\n<li>multi-function steering wheel;<\/li>\n<li>cruise control;<\/li>\n<li>ABS and EBD;<\/li>\n<li>rear parking sensors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, the double cab receives standard side-steps, a reverse camera and, in place of the conventional LCD audio system on the single cab, a 9.7-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.<\/p>\n<p>Somewhat bizarrely, the single cab only offers a driver\u2019s side airbag as standard as JMC\u2019s website lists the passenger\u2019 side item as an optional extra.<\/p>\n<p>This also applies to the mentioned side-steps.
