Some residents reported damaged roofs, flooded homes and debris-covered streets.<\/p>\n<p>The Emergency Services Department confirmed that teams were deployed throughout the night to respond to incidents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDisaster Management Officers, together with the Regional Operations Coordination Department, are currently conducting a situational assessment to determine the full extent of the impact,\u201d the city said.<\/p>\n<p>This includes evaluating damaged infrastructure, identifying high-risk areas and clearing blocked roads.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the severity of the storm, the city remain high.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, 1 December 2025, the City of Tshwane Emergency Management Services Department has received a weather warning\u2026 for 60% chances of rain,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists and residents were advised to avoid flooded or debris-covered roads, reduce speed and follow safety instructions.<\/p>\n<p>The city added it would continue to monitor conditions and issue further updates as needed.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-possible-impacts\">Possible impacts<\/h3>\n<p>The city warned that severe thunderstorms may lead to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heavy downpours and localised flooding of susceptible low-lying areas;<\/li>\n<li>Large amounts of small hail over an open area;<\/li>\n<li>Damaging winds and excessive lightning, which may result in structural fires;<\/li>\n<li>Disruptions to traffic due to roads being flooded;<\/li>\n<li>Motor vehicle accidents due to poor driving visibility and including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If possible, stay indoors and away from metal objects that conduct electricity (barbed wire fences, power lines), which may be hit by lightning.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid outdoor activities such as fishing or playing golf in the rain as the fishing rods and golf clubs may attract lightning.<\/li>\n<li>Do not seek shelter under isolated trees or tall objects if there is a thunderstorm.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid crossing flooded low-lying roads, bridges and swollen streams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If needed, the emergency numbers are 012 358
