This includes comments that his internet satellite service, Starlink, cannot operate in his home country due to \u201csuper racist\u201d laws.<\/p>\n<p>The world\u2019s richest man was born in Pretoria and now resides in the US. He has supported claims made by President Donald Trump about the \u201cgenocide of white people\u201d \u2013 comments the South African government has deemed disinformation.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-south-africans-slam-elon-musk\">SOUTH AFRICANS SLAM ELON MUSK<\/h2>\n<p>In response to another controversial tweet about his home country, many South Africans rallied together to call out Elon Musk.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Podcaster Penuel Mlotshwa<\/strong> replied to the world\u2019s richest man: \u201cI\u2019m convinced that you support Apartheid and the oppression of black people. That\u2019s the only rationale for PRETENDING not to understand South African laws that aim to redress the past\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Businessman Rutendo Matinyarare<\/strong> commented: \u201cNo different to how you are racist to non-whites. You soft-block influential black voices that seek to advance Africa and push rightwing racism and gaslighting on your platform\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sports broadcaster Robert Marawa<\/strong> claimed that Elon belonged in Weskoppies, a mental health institution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat time are you checking in?\u201d he cheekily asked.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t        <iframe title=\"bj_embed\" class=\"dx-embed\" id=\"dxIframe-0\" style=\"width: 100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Social justice activist Ulrich Janse van Vuuren<\/strong> added, \u201cThe insistence on bringing Starlink into South Africa is becoming noticeably intense. It\u2019s worth pausing to ask why. I don\u2019t trust it\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what others had to say:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>@SteB777:<\/em><\/strong><em> \u201cSo the previous Apartheid regime you were born under wasn\u2019t super racist? By its very nature, it was institutionalized racism. These are just facts.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>@RealSihleIV:<\/em><\/strong><em> \u201cWhy do you want to bring Starlink to a racist country?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>@Mothematiks<\/em><\/strong><em>: \u201cElon, please keep South Africa\u2019s name out of your mouth. Respectfully\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-did-he-tweet\">WHAT DID HE TWEET?<\/h3>\n<p>On the X app \u2013 which Elon Musk owns \u2013 he agreed with a user who condemned South Africa\u2019s enforcement of BEE in the telecoms sector.<\/p>\n<p>User <strong><em>@gailalfaratx <\/em><\/strong>stated that \u201cElon\u2019s Starlink wants to drop free, unlimited, super-fast internet into 5 000 rural South African schools, but SA\u2019s bureaucracy insists on saying no\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The user added: \u201cAll they\u2019re asking? A normal licence to operate in SA\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The X user suggested that Starlink would invest R500 million in providing internet services at rural schools, as an alternative to the transformative legislation.<\/p>\n<p>The post continued: \u201cCome on, South Africa, don\u2019t be the only country turning down free internet for millions of learners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElon Musk was born in South Africa, the very place that is telling him no to such a generous offer!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t        <iframe title=\"bj_embed\" class=\"dx-embed\" id=\"dxIframe-1\" style=\"width: 100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Musk agreed with the X user\u2019s views, adding, \u201cThe South African government is super racist against anyone who isn\u2019t Black. Just a fact. It\u2019s literally in the laws\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Elon Musk\u2019s Starlink \u2013 which falls under SpaceX \u2013 has thus far refused to comply with transformative legislation\u00a0 \u2013 like Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) \u2013 which governs telecom licences in South Africa.
