to play because illness had curtailed his practice time in the build-up, but he recovered from a early miss to convert his next six kicks as the Saints improved to 6-10 for the season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Smyth &#8211; who tied the Saints&#8217; franchise record with five successful field goals in one game against the New York Jets last week &#8211; began his full NFL career with a 56-yarder in defeat by the Miami Dolphins in Week 13 and matched that distance at Nissan Stadium in Nashville before converting from a yard deeper in the third quarter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I thought Charlie did a really good job,&#8221;
