Where do you find the proof of those [claims] that I don\u2019t pay royalties? Who told you that? Did you do research, or did you just hear one small boy say that and trend?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to dispute G Mashego\u2019s contribution to Biri Marung, insisting the song was not written by him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat boy didn\u2019t write anything. That song was written by Ego. Ego was just smart enough to say, \u2018Because that boy was trending on TikTok, let me put out a song\u2019. That guy wasn\u2019t even thinking of becoming an artist. That\u2019s why he could tell us sh*t and insult us. It is because he\u2019s not in the music business limelight, and I have to forgive him. That is the sad part. He humiliated me in front of everyone,\u201d Maphorisa said.<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on his own career, the producer stressed that his success was built through years of hard work and industry discipline, not shortcuts. He referenced his early days under Oskido\u2019s Kalawa Jazmee Records, where he says he learned the business from the ground up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve worked hard to get to where I am, and it was painful because I didn\u2019t take the shortcut. I\u2019ve seen a lot of people take shortcuts. I paid my dues. I was signed under Kalawa. You\u2019ve never heard me say any bad sh*t about Kalawa,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Maphorisa added that he still maintains a working relationship with the legendary label and believes growth in the music industry comes from collaboration across generations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOskido still comes to get advice from me because the game has changed. That\u2019s why I can go to Kabza and get advice from him. The game changes. That\u2019s why I work with young people. I was young before.
