for the Northern Cape, while heatwaves continue across much of the Eastern Cape.<\/p>\n<p>The weather service released its latest weather forecast for Sunday, 25 January 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what you need to know.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-weather-warnings-sunday-25-january-2026\">Weather warnings: Sunday, 25 January 2026<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fire-danger-warnings\">Fire danger warnings<\/h3>\n<p>Saws has warned of critical fire conditions in specific municipalities within the Northern Cape. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cExtremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Khai-Ma, Kamiesberg and Hantam municipalities of the Northern Cape,\u201d the weather service stated. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-advisories\">Advisories<\/h3>\n<p>Dangerous heat levels will persist across multiple Eastern Cape municipalities through the end of the week. <\/p>\n<p>Saws stated that \u201ca heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected in places over Sarah Baartman, Chris Hani, Joe Gqabi, Alfred Nzo, OR Tambo and Amathole until Thursday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALSO READ: Weather alert: what to expect in your province on Sunday, 25 January 2026:<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-gauteng\">Gauteng<\/h3>\n<p>Residents of Gauteng can expect comfortable conditions with the weather service forecasting partly cloudy and warm to hot weather across the province.<\/p>\n<p>The region\u2019s expected UVB sunburn index is \u201chigh\u201d.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mpumalanga\">Mpumalanga<\/h3>\n<p>Mpumalanga residents can expect reduced visibility in some areas during the morning hours. <\/p>\n<p>The weather service has forecast \u201cmorning fog patches and a chance of drizzle along the escarpment and Lowveld areas, otherwise partly cloudy and warm\u201d conditions.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-limpopo\">Limpopo<\/h3>\n<p>The province will experience warm conditions throughout the day. <\/p>\n<p>According to the weather service, it will be \u201cpartly cloudy and warm to hot\u201d across Limpopo.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-north-west\">North West<\/h3>\n<p>Morning fog patches await North West residents over the eastern parts before clearing. <\/p>\n<p>Saws stated that conditions will be \u201cpartly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated afternoon thundershowers, except in the south-west\u201d after the fog lifts.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-free-state\">Free State<\/h3>\n<p>Residents of the Free State can look forward to clearing skies after an overcast start in some areas. <\/p>\n<p>The weather service has forecast \u201cmorning fog patches in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and hot with isolated afternoon thundershowers over the eastern parts.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-northern-cape\">Northern Cape<\/h3>\n<p>The day will be fine and hot to very hot but warm along the coast.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, conditions will become \u201cpartly cloudy in the north-east in the afternoon,\u201d while coastal areas experience moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly winds \u201cbecoming strong from the afternoon.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-western-cape\">Western Cape<\/h3>\n<p>Western Cape residents can expect poor visibility along coastal areas during the morning. <\/p>\n<p>The weather service has warned of \u201cmisty and foggy along the west and south coasts in the morning\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOtherwise, fine and hot to very hot over the interior but fine to partly cloudy and warm along the coastal areas,\u201d it added. <\/p>\n<p>The region\u2019s expected UVB sunburn index is \u201cextreme,\u201d according to the weather service.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-eastern-cape-western-half\">Eastern Cape (western half)<\/h3>\n<p>The day will be fine and hot to very hot, but partly cloudy and warm along the coast. The South African Weather Service stated that conditions will become \u201ccloudy with a chance light rain in the south-east from the evening.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-eastern-cape-eastern-half\">Eastern Cape (eastern half)<\/h3>\n<p>The day will start with morning fog in some areas, then conditions will change throughout the day. <\/p>\n<p>According to Saws, it will be \u201cpartly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the interior, becoming cloudy with a chance of light rain in places south of the escarpment from in the evening.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-kwazulu-natal\">KwaZulu-Natal<\/h3>\n<p>Residents of KwaZulu-Natal can expect reduced visibility during the morning over inland areas. <\/p>\n<p>Saws has forecast \u201cmorning fog in the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in places in the north\u201d with \u201cisolated afternoon showers and thundershowers\u201d expected.<\/p>\n<p>The region\u2019s expected UVB sunburn index is \u201cvery high,\u201d according to the weather service.<\/p>\n<p>Residents should take the necessary precautions against prolonged sun exposure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ NEXT: Braais or umbrellas?
