The Zimbabwean club had a one-year option but the player decided to find a new club elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>The  Warriors defender, who was recently at AFCON with the national, travelled to South Africa to sign the contract after reaching a verbal agreement. <\/p>\n<p>However, the deal fell through after Mauchi reportedly refused to commit to a contract without documented proof that the club\u2019s international registration ban had been lifted, a guarantee Galaxy could not provide.<\/p>\n<p>Galaxy\u2019s three-window FIFA transfer ban was confirmed on 16 December 2025 following a contract dispute with Liberian player Jegbay Morris Konneh.<\/p>\n<p>The club owes Konneh a principal debt of approximately USD 125,000 (R2.2 million), as well as a 5% interest rate per annum, as per FIFA regulations. <\/p>\n<p>The failure to secure Mauchi caps off a frustrating period for coach Adnan Beganovic.
