{"id":49679,"date":"2026-02-11T16:36:18","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T16:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eduzim.co.zw\/news\/?p=49679"},"modified":"2026-02-11T16:36:18","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T16:36:18","slug":"mps-accuse-paul-osullivan-white-brown-mogotsi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eduzim.co.zw\/news\/2026\/02\/11\/mps-accuse-paul-osullivan-white-brown-mogotsi\/","title":{"rendered":"MPs accuse Paul O&#8217;Sullivan of not being truthful"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script data-jetpack-boost=\"ignore\" async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-1669381584671856\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- Africa tv video display -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1669381584671856\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"3579572842\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script data-jetpack-boost=\"ignore\">\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><h2>O&#8217;Sullivan also spoke about attending  a braai at Radovan Krej\u010d\u00ed\u0159&#8217;s house with police officials<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Fraud investigator Paul O\u2019Sullivan has firmly denied allegations that he is an information peddler as he faced intense questioning from members of Parliament\u2019s ad hoc committee.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Sullivan returned to the Good Hope Chamber in Cape Town on Wednesday for a second day of testimony before the committee, which is probing alleged corruption, criminal infiltration and political interference within South Africa\u2019s justice system.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-paul-o-sullivan-compared-to-brown-mogotsi\">Paul O\u2019Sullivan compared to Brown Mogotsi<\/h2>\n<p>The hearing turned confrontational when ANC MP Xola Nqola asked O\u2019Sullivan whether he could be considered a \u201chabitual liar\u201d, a \u201cname dropper\u201d or an \u201cinformation peddler\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course not,\u201d O\u2019Sullivan replied.<\/p>\n<p>Nqola referenced a podcast in which former police commissioner George Fivaz had allegedly called O\u2019Sullivan a liar.<\/p>\n<p>He challenged O\u2019Sullivan, saying: \u201cSo, everyone else is lying except you? A lot of the people you\u2019re mentioning, you say they are lying. That includes [Fannie] Masemola, [Dumisani] Khumalo, and [Nhlanhla] Mkhwanazi. So, everyone in South Africa \u2013 and the world \u2013 is lying except Mr. Paul O\u2019Sullivan?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALSO READ: Paul O\u2019Sullivan accused of getting money from Crime Intelligence slush fund<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MK party MP Vusi Shongwe then questioned O\u2019Sullivan about his allegations that some MPs received confidential information from Crime Intelligence officials. <\/p>\n<p>Shongwe pointed out that O\u2019Sullivan himself claimed to get information from a reliable source within Crime Intelligence and asked if this wasn\u2019t the same thing he was accusing MPs of.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can be the white Brown Mogotsi,\u201d Shongwe remarked, drawing a comparison between O\u2019Sullivan and alleged political fixer Oupa \u2018Brown\u2019 Mogotsi, who claims to be an undercover operative for Crime Intelligence.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-radovan-krejcir-braai\">Radovan Krej\u010d\u00ed\u0159 braai<\/h3>\n<p>O\u2019Sullivan was also questioned about a braai linked to Czech organised crime figure Radovan Krej\u010d\u00ed\u0159, which Police Minister Senzo Mchunu\u2019s chief of staff, Cedric Nkabinde, said was the setting for a plot against former acting national police commissioner Khomotso Phahlane.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Sullivan described the gathering as \u201can informal braai that lasted two hours\u201d, attended by former Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) head Robert McBride, suspended deputy national police commissioner Shadrack Sibiya and several other officials.<\/p>\n<p>He clarified that Sibiya was no longer in the police at the time and worked for the City of Johannesburg, while Nkabinde wasn\u2019t invited, but he \u201cturned up\u201d nonetheless. <\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0Ramaphosa was \u2018a very good student\u2019, Paul O\u2019Sullivan tells ad hoc committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A journalist attending to discuss a book on Krej\u010d\u00ed\u0159 was also present.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Sullivan denied that members from the DA and AfriForum were at the braai, as Nkabinde alleged.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll these things were fabricated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also explained the location of the braai.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe house in question is owned by a company and I asked the owner of the company if we can use the house. Radovan Krej\u010d\u00ed\u0159 used to live there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch the ad hoc committee below:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><noscript><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ad Hoc Committee to Investigate Allegations made by Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi, 11 February 2026\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0kbAN3JWpJA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>Krej\u010d\u00ed\u0159, notorious for criminal activities in South Africa and abroad, was convicted of kidnapping and attempted murder in 2015 and sentenced to 35 years. <\/p>\n<p>In the Czech Republic, he was sentenced in absentia to 15 years for fraud, tax evasion and plotting to murder a customs official.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-relationship-with-sibiya\">Relationship with Sibiya<\/h3>\n<p>O\u2019Sullivan recounted his interactions with Sibiya, which began during investigations into Krej\u010d\u00ed\u0159 in the early to mid-2010s. <\/p>\n<p>Following Sibiya\u2019s appointment as deputy national commissioner in July 2023, O\u2019Sullivan met him several times to deliver dockets on corrupt police officials and prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe then handed that to subordinates of his and we then worked with those people and those police officials were arrested and so were the prosecutors and they are currently on trial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0\u2018He loves money a lot\u2019 \u2013 Inside Matlala\u2019s relationship with Shadrack Sibiya<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He last contacted Sibiya on 6 July 2025, after allegations by Mkhwanazi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, he denied everything and I said to him \u2018well, I hope you have got your version of events to put forward.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Sullivan emphasised that their relationship was strictly professional, saying the pair were not friends.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to place it on record. I don\u2019t know where he lives, I have never been to his house. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have never been to a restaurant for a meal with him. I have never had any dealings with him.
