Grandpa (74) Kills Man For Gossiping<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
By A Correspondent \u2013 Police in Chivhu have taken into custody a 74-year-old man following two separate stabbing incidents, reportedly triggered by rumours.<\/p>\n
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said on Wednesday that Never Nhire allegedly stabbed two individuals, one of whom died immediately.<\/p>\n
According to reports, Nhire accused the victims of circulating rumours that he was romantically involved with multiple women in the village.<\/p>\n
Commissioner Nyathi confirmed that the first victim narrowly survived and was taken to Nharira Clinic for treatment, while the second victim died at the scene.<\/p>\n
He said:
\u201cThe ZRP confirms the arrest of Never Nhire (74) in connection with cases of attempted murder and murder which occurred at Mudavanhu Village, Chivhu, on 20\/02\/26.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect allegedly stabbed the complainant once on the head with an okapi knife, claiming that he had been spreading rumours about his relationships with several women in the village.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe complainant managed to flee and was referred to Nharira Clinic, where he is reported to be in a stable condition.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter the first attack, the suspect went to Itai Chidangure (62)\u2019s homestead, where he stabbed him once in the neck over the same allegations.<\/p>\n
\u201cItai Chidangure died at the scene. His body was taken to Chivhu General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.\u201d<\/p>\n
