Chamisa Breaks Silence: \u201cI Will Never Take Money From ZANU-PF\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
Tinashe Sambiri \u2013 Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa has strongly dismissed accusations circulating on social media that he has benefited from bribes linked to the ruling ZANU\u2013PF.<\/p>\n
The allegations were raised by Kuwadzana legislator Charlton Hwende on the microblogging platform X (Twitter), where he suggested that Chamisa had been compromised by receiving benefits from the governing party.<\/p>\n
In a recent interview with a local media outlet, Chamisa brushed aside the accusations, describing them as comments made in a state of intoxication.<\/p>\n
\u201cThose things are said in circumstances of intoxication. Why should I waste my time on issues of drinks?\u201d Chamisa said.
He insisted that his political stance has remained firm despite the criticism and attacks directed at him over the years.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the record, I bear multiple scars for standing principled, focused and consistent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chamisa further rejected suggestions that he has benefited from privileges often associated with public office.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am not in Parliament. I have not received a loan from Zanu PF. I don\u2019t have a farm,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chamisa said instead of receiving benefits, he has endured persecution because of his political stance.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have nothing that I have received from anyone except persecution, ridicule, oppression, and attempted assassination,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
