Man In Trouble For Fondling Passenger\u2019s Breasts In Mushika Shika Vehicle<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
By A Correspondent \u2013 A 27-year-old Rusape man has been ordered to pay a fine of US$105 or spend 10 days in prison after being convicted of indecent assault for touching a female passenger inappropriately in an illegal pirate taxi, commonly known as a mushika-shika.<\/p>\n
Richard Musundura, who lives in the Vengere suburb of Rusape, appeared before Magistrate Tendai Mahwe, who found him guilty of assaulting a 22-year-old woman following a dispute over change.<\/p>\n
The incident took place on February 27, 2026, after the woman boarded an unregistered taxi that was being driven by Musundura\u2019s friend.<\/p>\n
Court proceedings heard that when the vehicle reached her destination, the woman paid US$1 for the trip and asked for her change of ZiG20, which is about US$0.50. The driver allegedly failed to give her the money back, sparking an argument.<\/p>\n
As the disagreement escalated, the other passengers reportedly got out of the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Musundura then took over driving the car and drove away with the complainant still inside.<\/p>\n
He allegedly drove to the Hide Out Bar Complex and later to the UVE Section without the woman\u2019s consent.<\/p>\n
While in the secluded area, Musundura reportedly grabbed the complainant with one arm and touched her breasts with the other.<\/p>\n
The woman tried to resist and push him away but was unable to free herself.
The court heard that the woman began crying, which caused Musundura to stop the assault.<\/p>\n
He later drove the complainant to his friend\u2019s house, where she remained locked inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n
The situation only changed when the driver\u2019s wife arrived, unlocked the car, and gave the woman US$1 so that she could find transport home.<\/p>\n
The victim then boarded a kombi and went to Rusape Central Police Station, where she reported the matter, leading to Musundura\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n
Musundura, who represented himself in court, pleaded guilty to the charge. Magistrate Mahwe subsequently fined him US$105 or, alternatively, sentenced him to 10 days in prison.<\/p>\n
