{"id":53261,"date":"2026-03-19T23:35:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T23:35:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eduzim.co.zw\/news\/?p=53261"},"modified":"2026-03-19T23:35:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T23:35:09","slug":"medical-doctor-in-hot-soup-over-fraudulent-medical-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eduzim.co.zw\/news\/2026\/03\/19\/medical-doctor-in-hot-soup-over-fraudulent-medical-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Medical Doctor In Hot Soup Over Fraudulent Medical Report \u2013 Eduzim News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"post_data\">\n<p>Medical Doctor In Hot Soup Over Fraudulent Medical Report<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>By A Correspondent| Harare Magistrate Ruth Moyo has remanded medical practitioner, Dr. Micky Kondo out-of custody on charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Kondo will return to court on 8 April 2026 for continuation of proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>It is the state\u2019s case that Dr. Kondo authored a medical letter in support of a High Court child custody matter involving a client he had never previously known or examined. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"516\" height=\"387\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eduzim.co.zw\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Medical-Doctor-In-Hot-Soup-Over-Fraudulent-Medical-Report-%E2%80%93.jpeg?resize=516%2C387&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-847849\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eduzim.co.zw\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Medical-Doctor-In-Hot-Soup-Over-Fraudulent-Medical-Report-\u2013.jpeg 516w, https:\/\/www.zimeye.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-03-19-at-15.08.09-1-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 516px) 100vw, 516px\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>According to court proceedings, the incident occurred after an unidentified woman visited his practice at Eastgate Mediclini and paid US$500 for a consultation, a transaction that was receipted.<\/p>\n<p>It is alleged that following the consultation, the woman left with a letter purportedly written by Dr. Kondo, tailored to strengthen her position in an ongoing custody dispute before the High Court. <\/p>\n<p>The letter is said to have contained claims about a businessman central to the case, raising concerns about its authenticity and the circumstances under which it was produced.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kondo pleaded not guilty to the charges. In his warned and cautioned statement, he distanced himself and his medical practice from the disputed document, describing it as fraudulent and denying any involvement in its authorship. <\/p>\n<p>He further rejected allegations that he knowingly issued a medical opinion without proper examination or knowledge of the individuals concerned. He admitted to not knowing the businessman and that he has never treated him either.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors argue that the letter was deliberately crafted to mislead the court, thereby undermining the administration of justice.
