By A Correspondent \u2013 Allegations of orchestrated disruptions and intimidation during school development committee (SDC) elections in Masvingo Urban have been levelled against Sengerai Manyanga, according to statements at a recent Masvingo City full council meeting.<\/p>\n
Councillor Esther Zishiri accused Manyanga of arranging and paying individuals to interfere with the SDC election process, particularly at Rujeko Primary School during the 2025 and 2026 polls.<\/p>\n
\u201cCouncillor Manyanga, it is clear that you coordinate and fund people to disrupt these elections,\u201d Zishiri said. \u201cYou even brought in intoxicated individuals from Mucheke to influence the vote at Rujeko Primary. And now you expect us to produce a report on the chaos you caused?\u201d<\/p>\n
She added that it was widely known and documented that Manyanga repeatedly transported Zanu PF youth and provided incentives to sway SDC election results in his party\u2019s favour.<\/p>\n
These allegations came after Manyanga requested an official report on the recent elections, in which Patience Mapfumo, the candidate backed by Zanu PF, was removed from the SDC chairperson position.<\/p>\n
Zishiri\u2019s statements underscore growing concerns about political interference in school governance and raise questions about the integrity and fairness of SDC elections in Masvingo Urban<\/p>\n
