Mr Walter Mapfumo, who was on duty guarding the church premises along Harare Drive, was fatally attacked on 15 March after a group of armed robbers stormed the property.<\/p>\n
According to reports, the assailants gained entry by climbing over the perimeter wall before confronting Mapfumo. They allegedly attempted to take him hostage, but he resisted, leading to a violent confrontation.<\/p>\n
The attackers then subjected him to extreme brutality before proceeding to steal money from the church.<\/p>\n
Mapfumo was stabbed multiple times in the chest and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.<\/p>\n
The shocking nature of the attack has left the local community in mourning, with many describing Mapfumo as a dedicated and hardworking man who died in the line of duty.<\/p>\n
