ZIMSEC Warns No Further Exam Registration Deadline Extension After 22 May<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
By A Correspondent \u2013 The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has opened a mop-up window for 2026 Ordinary Level and Advanced Level registration for the November exams, but stressed that the final deadline of 22 May 2026 will not be extended.<\/p>\n
In a statement released on Monday, 30 March, ZIMSEC said the registration period is intended for candidates who missed the original deadline of 27 March, as well as those needing to regularise subject entries in line with Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education policy.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe mop-up registration window runs until 22 May 2026. Any candidate who fails to register by this date will have to wait until June 2027 to sit their exams,\u201d the council warned.<\/p>\n
Last week, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Torerayi Moyo highlighted the importance of the extension during a National Assembly Question and Answer session. He said, \u201cThe deadline has been extended to give parents and guardians more time to raise exam registration fees. It is critical that all candidates meet the 22 May cut-off to avoid missing this exam cycle.\u201d<\/p>\n
ZIMSEC\u2019s announcement comes as part of its commitment to ensuring compliance with registration policies and maintaining the integrity of the examination process. <\/p>\n
The council emphasized that there will be no further extensions beyond 22 May, urging students and parents to act promptly.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe council calls on all candidates to take advantage of this mop-up period. After 22 May, there will be no exceptions,\u201d ZIMSEC added.<\/p>\n
