The match was tightly contested for long stretches, with both sides struggling to create clear scoring opportunities early on. Zambia, fielding a squad with several fringe players, tested goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze first, forcing a solid save.<\/p>\n
Zimbabwe gradually found their rhythm, and Macauley Bonne came close on the half-hour mark when he broke through one-on-one, only to be denied by the Zambian goalkeeper. Later in the first half, the Warriors thought they had taken the lead after a well-worked move, but Bonne\u2019s effort was ruled out for offside.<\/p>\n
In the second half, Zimbabwe controlled much of the play. Emmanuel Jalai and Bill Antonio both had chances, but the Zambian defence held firm.<\/p>\n
The Warriors suffered a setback when Junior Selemani was forced off injured and replaced by Junior Zindoga. Later, Corbin Mthunzi made his debut, coming on for Isheanesu Mauchi in the 85th minute.<\/p>\n
The decisive moment came in the 89th minute when Zindoga delivered a ball that was inadvertently turned into the net by a Zambian defender, giving Zimbabwe the winning goal.<\/p>\n
The victory marked Zimbabwe\u2019s second clean sheet of the tournament, following their win over hosts Botswana, and capped off a disciplined performance against a young, energetic Chipolopolo side.<\/p>\n
