This was a targeted attack meant to disrupt our legal monitoring and intimidate our leadership,” ZSM claimed.

The organization also alleged that journalists were being restricted from carrying out their duties. “Journalists have been subjected to illegal detention within consultation venues, prevented from documenting the chaos and the overwhelming public rejection of the Bill,” the statement read.

ZSM further claimed that crowds at the hearings were being manipulated. “Reports from across the country indicate that the regime is bussing in ‘regime parrots’ to drown out local residents, turning a public hearing into a partisan rally,” it said.

According to the movement, the prevailing atmosphere has created fear among citizens. “The atmosphere of fear created by the presence of intelligence operatives and violent cadres makes it impossible for any ordinary citizen to exercise their rights without fear of retribution,” the statement added.

Declaring its position, ZSM said it would not participate in the process. “We do not recognize these sham consultations. We will now pivot to alternative legal and constitutional means to fight this constitutional coup,” the movement said.

The group also called on broader stakeholders to reject the process. “We call upon all progressive forces, civil society, and the international community to reject this fraudulent process,” the statement read.
Reaffirming its stance, ZSM concluded: “The Constitution belongs to the people, not the predators in power.”

Related

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-1669381584671856"
     data-ad-slot="3579572842"
     data-ad-format="auto"
     data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>
#Zimbabwe #Solidarity #Movement #Blasts #Constitutional #Coup #CAB3 #Consultations #Fire #ZimEye

Zimbabwe Solidarity Movement Blasts “Constitutional Coup” as CAB3 Consultations Come Under Fire Tinashe Sambiri– The Zimbabwe Solidarity Movement (ZSM) has…

[32,11
4523,10267,2875,10268,215,6694,843,4622,202,6283,113
post-54707","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-mzansi","category-world","tag-blasts","tag-cab3","tag-constitutional","tag-consultations","tag-coup","tag-eduzim","tag-fire","tag-movement","tag-news","tag-solidarity","tag-zimbabwe
["GET
