Tinashe Sambiri\u2013 The opposition Freedom Fighters for Change (FFC) has launched a fresh attack on the Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa-led government, accusing it of undermining democratic freedoms through proposed constitutional reforms.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued on Friday, the group strongly criticised Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3), warning that it poses a threat to rights associated with Zimbabwe\u2019s liberation struggle.<\/p>\n
The statement read:
\u201cPROTECT OUR FREEDOM \u2014 SAY NO TO CAB3
Independence is coming. But what does it mean if we lose the rights our fathers died for?
They bled for this land.<\/p>\n
They died so we could be free.
We cannot betray that sacrifice.
CAB3 threatens the freedoms we fought for. We must reject it \u2014 not with anger, but with wisdom.
Freedom is not inherited. It is defended.

The group argued that independence risks becoming meaningless if constitutional protections are weakened, urging citizens to resist the proposed changes.<\/p>\n
