Tinashe Sambiri\u2013 Citizens leader Nelson Chamisa on Monday issued a strongly worded statement condemning what he described as a coordinated propaganda campaign, while warning that Zimbabwe is facing a deepening governance and constitutional crisis.<\/p>\n
In his remarks, Chamisa accused unnamed forces of deliberately spreading misinformation to manipulate public opinion and suppress dissent.<\/p>\n
\u201cDisturbing to note a propaganda campaign of fake news, fabricated falsehoods and contrived lies being sponsored by the oppressors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chamisa reiterated his long-standing position that the country is in crisis, arguing that the will of the people has been undermined and must be restored.<\/p>\n
\u201cI reiterate my message, Zimbabwe faces a governance and constitutional crisis. The will of the citizens must be restored and respected,\u201d he said.
He called on Zimbabweans to put aside political differences and unite against what he described as a disputed system of governance and controversial constitutional changes.<\/p>\n
\u201cZimbabweans must unite against the disputed government and amendments. The issue transcends political parties, superficial differences, and concerns the future of the country as a whole,\u201d Chamisa added.<\/p>\n
Emphasising the gravity of the situation, Chamisa said the current moment goes beyond party politics and speaks to the country\u2019s future direction.
\u201cThis is no longer about political parties but about ZIMBABWE. God bless you!\u201d<\/p>\n
His remarks come amid rising political tensions and growing debate over constitutional reforms, with critics warning that proposed amendments could further entrench power and weaken democratic institutions.<\/p>\n
